Most people think latte art is about designs. It's actually about fundamentals — and that's exactly what this class is built around.

You'll spend the majority of your session at your own machine, drilling the techniques that make great latte art repeatable: milk texture, flow control, pitcher positioning, and staying centered throughout your pour. Your instructor will be right there with you, giving real-time feedback on every attempt and helping you self-diagnose what's going wrong and why.

We start by breaking down the monk's head — the foundation of every free-pour pattern — before integrating the pull-through to form a heart. Along the way, we'll reference common mistake videos so you can visually connect what you're doing to what you're seeing in the cup.

The goal is simple: leave pouring clean, symmetrical hearts with confidence — and know exactly how to fix them when something goes off.

What You'll Work On

Milk texture: Steam consistent, glossy microfoam — the single biggest factor in latte art.

Flow control: Learn to manage your pour rate from start to finish.

Pitcher positioning: Understand proximity to the cup and why millimeters matter.

Centering: Stay aligned through the entire pour for symmetrical results.

Self-diagnosis: Recognize common mistakes and know how to correct them at home.

Who This Class Is For

Latte Art Skills is designed for home baristas who already know how to pull espresso and steam milk, and want to focus specifically on their pour. It's a natural next step after our Barista Fundamentals class, or a great standalone option if you've been making espresso at home and want dedicated time to sharpen your latte art.

This class is not a beginner introduction to espresso — if you're brand new, start with Barista Fundamentals.

REVIEWS

Getting the milk texture consistent was key and that was my biggest struggle. The instructors made me feel very confident and good about my skills and hyped me up. Absolutely loved the way they taught and encouraged everyone.
Sam
We do a lot of courses (cocktail, cooking, etc) and this was by far the best one we have done. The instructor was fantastic — passionate and engaging, explained things clearly, and offered a great amount of support and guidance.
Alexis + Dorie
I had a high expectation for the session, and you absolutely beat that. Thoroughly enjoyed the pace, expertise, and the time spent creating.
Rick
Having oat milk as an alternative to practice was extremely valuable as I was able to apply my learnings from whole milk and get practice with what I use at home. Easy to digest techniques and lessons, but ultimately having Jonathan give live feedback on each step of the process was priceless.
Larry
"Loved the pace, hands-on nature, focus on milk texture to form foundation for latte art."
Megan
The ability to laugh and keep trying with no pressure.
