This coffee pops from the first sip with candied lime, sweet red currant, and a smooth, honeyed finish that lingers. It’s bright and clean, with enough sweetness to keep things grounded. A standout among classic Kenyan profiles!
Grown by members of the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society in Nyeri, this lot reflects everything we love about the region: high elevation, volcanic soil, and cool weather that allows sugars to develop slowly and evenly. Mutheka’s 700+ producers share seven wet mills and a strong commitment to quality, and it shows.
After tasting through several lots from Nyeri this year, this is the one we kept coming back to. If you shy away from Kenyan Coffees due to the traditional tomato-like acidity, this one will convert you! Brew it as a V60 pourover to let its clarity and complexity shine.
